Three policemen have lost their lives in the line of duty in Kebbi State.
The deceaseds were shot dead by suspected members of the Lakurawa group on Friday evening at Zogirma in Bunza Local Government Area of the State.
In a report of the melancholy event given by Kebbi State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, it said the officers were killed in the gun battle that ensued between a team of officers and the bandits when the latter attempted to attack commuters plying Zogirma/Tilli road.
“As a result, several suspected Lakurawa bandits were neutralised while others escaped to the nearby forest with fatal injuries. Regrettably, three brave Police Officers lost their lives during the encounter,” Abubakar wrote in a statement he released on the incident.
