A man simply identified as Osita has been shot dead in Owerri, Imo State, while reportedly taking his children back to the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
The tragic incident, said to have occurred on Monday, has thrown the victim’s family into mourning, with his children reportedly witnessing the horrifying attack.
Osita’s brother, Obinna Collins Onuoha, broke the news in a Facebook post on Tuesday, describing the deceased as his only blood brother.
Onuoha expressed shock and grief over the killing, questioning who could have carried out the attack and vowing that those responsible would not escape justice.
He mourned his brother and prayed for the repose of his soul.
The post triggered an outpouring of condolences from friends and sympathisers.
One of them, Kenneth Nwoga, claimed the scene was horrible when he arrived at the location, leaving the family to grapple with the gruesome reality of the incident.
Nwoga prayed for divine comfort for the bereaved family and asked Onuoha to take heart over the devastating loss.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the identity and motive of the attackers, were not immediately clear.
