A detachment of armed policemen and Court bailiffs have taken possession of nollywood actress, Laide Bakare’s hubby’s properties, Alhaji Mutairu Atanda Orilowo (pictured with Laide below). The action, was in execution of forfeiture orders obtained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The EFCC had declared Laide Bakare’s husband ‘wanted’ for alleged complicity in a case of criminal conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretences and stealing after he failed to hand himself over to the commission and clear himself of the allegation.
It was alleged that Alhaji Orilowo conspired with some past executives of MTN’s Employees Multipurpose Cooperative Society(MEMCOS), namely Victor Akintunde and Gani Mustapha to defraud members of the Society through his company, PrimaVera Engineering and Construction Company a whooping sum of N2.5bn.
The EFCC, recently obtained a forfeiture order on all his known properties, including his two petrol filling stations at Ajah, his house at Ibeju Lekki, No. 1 OtunbaAdeniyi Street, Papa-Epe, Lagos, a 2014 model of Bentley, and a boutique he opened for his actress wife, Laide Bakare.
