A final year student of Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Tunji Agboola, died on Saturday after he collapsed while playing football.

The deceased was a 500-level Applied Geophysics student and lived off campus. He was said to be playing football on the field at the FUTA South Gate area when he suddenly slumped, and was rushed to the school’s hospital but on getting there the centre was met closed following strike action embarked upon by the Non-Academic Staff Union.
They also took him to a private hospital, and later moved him to the Ondo State Specialist Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
Late Agboola’s sudden death cast a pall over the campus and on social media, among his friends who took to Facebook to express their shock, grief and sadness.
