Two persons have lost their lives in a lone accident involving a tanker loaded with Premium Motor Spirit better known as fuel.
The incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday at Orita Challenge outlet of Gabster Mega Petrol Station in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
According to the account given by Yemi Akinyinka, General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, via a statement, the tanker laden with fuel developed brake failure while in motion causing part of the content to spill out, and sparking fire that burnt both the driver and motor boy beyond recognition.
“We got information about the GABSTAB Mega Petrol Station, Orita Challenge, fire incident at 5:15 a.m. and deployed our men immediately. The driver and motor boy were burnt to death.
“The fire has been put out, and more details about the incident would later be provided,” the statement read.
