Following the closure on who between Ejikeme Mmesoma and Kamsiyochukwu Umeh scored the highest mark in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the latter has been awarded N2.5m.
Kamsiyochukwu, a student of Deeper Life High School, Mowe, Ogun State scored 360 to beat all other candidates, and has been in receipt of N2.5 cash gift from Erisco Foods Limited.
In Mmesoma’s case, Innoson Group that awarded the 19-year-old N3m scholarship has revoked the award.
This was made public through the medium of a statement its head of corporate, Cornel Osigwe released, which reads in part, “In line with these principles and response to the confirmed findings, we have made the difficult decision to withdraw the scholarship awarded to Miss Mmesoma Ejikeme.
“This action is a testament to our unyielding commitment to honesty, integrity, and merit-based recognition.”
Coincidentally, Kamsiyochukwu and Mmesoma hail from Anambra State.
