The woman who allegedly set fire to her husband’s manhood in Ekiti State on February 14, 2015, during a valentine’s day quarrel has been paraded by the police in Ado-Ekiti.
The suspect, Mrs. Bukola Ogidiolu(pictured beside her bedridden husband who is on admission at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital) was alleged to have picked a fight with her hubby, Mr. Bimbola Ogidiolu at their apartment at Idolofin area in Ado-Ekiti after he returned home late on Valentine’s day.
The 36-year-old was said to have groused about how her commercial driver husband abandoned her at home to savour the moment. In a fury, it was alleged that she poured petrol on him, aiming at his private parts and set him ablaze.
However, the suspect denied the allegation in an interview with newsmen. She added that their dispute was caused by childlessness, and not that he didn’t take her out on Valentine’s day.
She said: “We had disagreement over his nonchalant attitude to my barrenness that day and we were fighting. It has nothing to do with valentine outing because I’m not a baby that would be asking to be taken out. We’ve been married since 2012 and I’ve been taking drugs so that I could have a child for him.
“Our neighbours tried to plead with him but he never listened to them. He later ran inside and destroyed all my property. But he had forgotten that we have petrol inside and when he was about lighting his cigarette, the keg that contains the petrol exploded and my husband caught fire immediately.”
