Oladokun Ayomide, a student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta has been arrested for poisoning his girlfriend, Ugbokwe Mmasichukwu, and another lady, Odumosu Semilore, both students of Federal College of Education, Osiele.
Semilore had accompanied Mmasichukwu to Ayomide’s residence in Surulere area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Friday.
The girlfriend’s visit was on the invitation of her boyfriend with the occasion culminating in her hospitalization alongside her schoolmate.
Report said the ladies were poisoned by their host, with a harmful cake and an alcoholic drink he served them.
It was said on consumption, Mmasichukwu and Semilore lost consciousness, a health condition that was brought to the attention of their school’s Chief Security Officer who in turn, turned the suspect over to the police.
The latter has launched investigation into it with a view to unravel Ayomide’s primary motive with report adding that the police have established a prima facie evidence that the poisoning was anything but accident.
