The mathematics examination in the ongoing September/October 2015 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for private candidates, earlier scheduled for Friday, September 25, has been rescheduled due to Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

President General, Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar on Monday declared Thursday, September 24 as Eid-el-Kabir day.
Consequently it is expected that the federal government will declare next Thursday and Friday public holiday.

Therefore, yesterday Head of Nigeria National Office of WAEC, Mr. Charles Eguridu told newsmen that WAEC had rescheduled the mathematics examination that was supposed to take place on September 25 to October 10 because of Sallah festivities.

According to the new timetable, also affected is the Government 2 (Essay) and Government 1 (Objective) that were earlier scheduled for 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. respectively on Friday, September 18 but would now hold by 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. for the papers 2 and 1 on the same.
