Isiokpo, the community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State where late billionaire banker, Herbert Wigwe hailed from, is looking beyond the helicopter crash that took the life of the deceased Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank.

Wigwe died in a chopper crash in United States alongside his wife, son and friend, ex-Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo.

Preliminary investigation by the US authorities attributed the accident to wintry weather.

However, traditional authorities in Isiokpo community that is enveloped by sadness arising from the loss of the illustrious son are not ruling out foulplay.

This is according to The Nation citing the traditional Ruler, HRM King Blessing Wagor.

“We must traditionally bury him. He cannot be buried outside Isiokpo. He must be buried here. Isiokpo must find a way to probe his death. We must get to the root of the whole thing. Isiokpo is an ancient city.

“We must go back to our traditional way and find out what really killed Herbert Wigwe. If his death is natural, we will know. If it is from a human we will know,” the monarch told the publication.
