Borno Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum, has ordered residents to fast this coming Monday, imploring them to seek God’s intervention in the unfriendly economy and insecurity plaguing the state and the entire country.
Zulum gave this order on Friday while addressing the residents on contemporary issues via electronic media broadcast.
The governor said the government is doing its best to turn the corner urging residents to observe the one-day voluntary fasting for divine intervention.
He directed that on the occasion, prayers should be focus on the state, directing traditional rulers, clerics and residents to ensure participation.
He added that it was for the peace, prosperity and the development of Borno State.
Some of his words: “I am deeply troubled by the recent hardships faced by our citizens, particularly the high cost of food items.
“I understand the burden that this places on families and individuals, and I want to assure you that we are taking decisive steps to alleviate this issue.
“Our government is focusing on reviving agriculture in the state, intending to increase food production and reduce our reliance on food palliative.”
