The National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress, APC, currently under lock and key following a protracted leadership tussle will remain so until the court’s order was cleared and without equivocation.

APC’s crisis stemmed from a section of the party’s chieftains’ opposition to the reign of the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, and their desire to remove him culminating in two conflicting injunctions by courts of concurrent jurisdiction.

Following the impasse, the police stepped in and sealed up the secretariat to prevent the situation from degenerating into violence.

It is only through the court that normalcy can return to the secretariat, according to The Nation.

The paper said it gleaned from insiders that during a meeting of the warring factions with the Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu, the latter insisted on not opening the secretariat until the matter is settled by the court.

“At a meeting with the groups, the IG said he would wait for the decision of the Court of Appeal and the national secretariat of APC will remain under lock and key.

“With amicable words from the IG, the NWC leaders left the Nigeria Police Headquarters,” the paper quoted highly placed sources as saying.
