The appointment of ex-Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose as Board Chairman, Rural Electrification Agency, REA, has drawn reaction from Fayose’s brother, Isaac Fayose.
The former governor though a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain in the faction of FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, has been a vocal fan of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Isaac is a devotee of Peter Obi.
He recently came under attack of members of Obidient Movement for meeting with Tinubu’s son, Seyi, and sang the latter’s praise — a criticism that ired him, prompting him to issue threat that would back Tinubu in 2027 election.
The culmination was that Obi paid him a visit during which he reversed himself and reiterated his commitment to the aspiration of the former Anambra State governor, the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.
Weighing in on his elder brother’s appointment, Isaac described it as “yeye appointment” which allegedly stemmed from Obi’s visit to his residence.
“They gave my brother DG because Obi came on Saturday to visit me. So they said, no, we must enter that family,” he wrote in a post on his Facebook handle.
He also said in the post that the appointment beneath the ex-governor and would decline it.
“My brother won’t take the yeye appointment… E lo fi okan bale…They said they gave my brother DG, DG, not a minister, not ambassador.
“They said they gave him DG, head of parastatal, chairman of a committee. They no see give him minister, they no give him minister, they no give him ambassador,” he penned further.
Recall that Fayose once said he had no interest in being in Tinubu’s government citing his age, “At 65, I’d rather be at home, being more responsible, doing other things that I need to do. I’ve served well. Two-time governor, I’ve done well. Tomorrow will hold itself.”
