Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) said its Caregiver Academy came into place to bridge the gap in healthcare support given to the elderly and infirm.
The reason for the establishment was given by LASUTH Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adetokun Fabamwo while speaking at the graduation ceremony of the first set of the academy’s graduates held in Lagos on Thursday.
The CMD said the programme aligned with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E agenda, and is consistent with the Federal Government’s desire to increase the output of new healthcare workers to attenuate effects of ‘japa’.
Fabamwo congratulated the 88 graduating students, adding that the programme is of interest to the Commissioner for Health, Lagos State, Prof. Abayomi.
