A woman has been arrested in Akwa-Ibom State for burying her newborn baby alive, the same day she gave birth to the baby.
The suspect, Miss Patience Aaron lives at Afaha Abia village in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of the state.
Briefing newsmen yesterday in Uyo, the Commissioner of Police, Gabriel Achong, said the baby, who was buried in a shallow grave, was rescued alive about seven hours later by neighbours who reported the scandalous incident to the police.
Achong added that after her arrest, Miss Aaron fell sick, and would be charged to court when she recovers.
