A 50-year-old woman, Nwabueze Maria, has been arrested alongside a self-proclaimed prophet, Osinachi Makuo, over alleged attempt to kill Maria’s2 4-year-old step-son, Ikenga Ezenyi.
Maria and Makuo are in detention at the Imo State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
Levelled at the pair is allegation that operating under a fake prophecy, they abducted Ikenga and caused him grievous bodily harm, which led to one of his hand to undergo amputation.
Their actions, is considered an attempt on the life of the Maria’s ex-husband’s only son.
The police got wind of the matter through a petition, according to Imo State Commissioner of Police CP Barde while speaking when the suspects were being paraded on Saturday.
