Two Zamfara traditional rulers have been suspended by the state government after being linked to banditry plaguing the state, a statement released by the Director-General Media and Publicity to the state Governor, Alhaji Yusuf Idris, said.

The suspended rulers are the Emir of Maru, Alhaji Abubakar CIKA Ibrahim and the District Head of Kanoma town, Alhaji Ahmed Lawal.
The duo who are from Maru Local Government are alleged of complicity in the banditry rocking the state which culminated in the suspension of six heads of districts by the immediate past governor of the state, Abdul’Aziz Yari.
According to the statement, Gov. Bello Mutawalle has ordered Ibrahim and Lawal to vacate their positions in the interim to allow investigation into their alleged involvement in the unwholesome crime.
