The vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ifeanyi Okowa, has mentioned that the Aso Rock Chapel in the Villa would not function again from May 29 at least till the next four years.

The Delta State governor made this assertion on the account of the victory of the All Progressives Congress candidates, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, both Muslims, while addressing members of the Isoko Church Leaders Council in the Isoko South Local Government Area of the state on Friday ahead of the governorship poll slated for March 11.

Ifeanyi, faulting the electoral process that produced Tinubu and Shettima, classed their emergence as a suspension of church services in the Villa for at least till 2027.

“We saw the manipulation of the election coming, and the church of Christ prayed against the situation which we have just found ourselves in.

“Obviously, this is not the will of God. It is not the will of God that the chapel in Aso Rock will be closed for four years as a result of the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC),” he said.

It may have been lost on Governor Okowa that the incoming first lady, Senator Remi Tinubu is a Christian, and Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Equally, the two-time Senator is not a push-over in her spouse’s political circle, and is rumoured to her ways with issues surrounding him.
