Suggestion that Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate in 2023, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, is on his way out of the party has drawn his reaction.
The PDP is long polarised since Atiku emerged as the party presidential candidate over which five governors then stood against his candidacy.
More than two years since then no alleviation is brought to the party’s crisis.
The former Vice President has been having open romance with non-PDP members and calling for political alliance that would enable the ruling All Progressives Congress suffers defeat come 2027.
This sparked wide conjectures that the 78-year-old is planning to quit PDP, a rumour that gained his response via a statement issued by his media office.
“We wish to clarify that the so-called news of Atiku defecting to another party is a total fallacy that holds no merit in logic,” the statement read.
“Atiku is advocating a robust coalition that would accommodate all opposition parties, the PDP inclusive,” the statement added.
