The public apology made by fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 de Ultimate or KWAM 1 has excited reaction from the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.
The spotlight has been on Ayinde following the scene he caused at the local wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Tuesday.
Scheduled to board the flight to Lagos, the 68-year-old got into a shouting match with ground staff and the pilot at the foot of the aircraft.
The fight arose from the refusal of the aforesaid to allow him board with an alcohol he had in a flask with him on grounds that it surpassed the amount of alcohol a passenger is allowed to board with.
Upon being shut out, KWAM1 made a failed attempt to prevent the aircraft from taxing by standing at its front.
The incident drew him public opprobrium and sanction from aviation authorities.
The latter suspended him from flying for six months and petitioned the Inspector General of Police and the Attorney General of Federation for further actions against the music star.
“The incident is sincerely regretted. I remain committed to upholding the values and responsibilities that come with being a global ambassador of Nigerian music and culture.
“To the Presidency, Ministry of Aviation, FAAN, NCAA, ValueJet, fellow Nigerians, and my teeming fans across the world who have shown great concern since the incident happened, I tender my unreserved and heartfelt apology,” he said in a statement he released on Friday.
“We have just seen this (apology) on social media like everyone else. We have not had the opportunity to deliberate on it,” Keyamo told Punchng.
