The occupants of Ford Explorer Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) that plunged into the Lagoon on Saturday night. have been identified as Retired Air Force officer, AVM Olufunsho Martins, and his driver.

The duo were killed in the lone accident that occurred when their SUV with number plates: GGE 456 BT, fell into the muddy section of the lagoon, midnight Saturday.
The car somersaulted before it plunged into the lagoon when the occupants were heading to Late Martins’ residence at Funsho Martin’s Avenue, Park View Estate, from Ikeja.
It was said that the retired AVM, who was into real estate and hospitality sector returned to the country last Tuesday from UK to attend a funeral, and was coming from his event centre, Martinos, in Ikeja when the incident happened.
Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and fishermen recovered Late Martins’ body and that of his driver from the submerged vehicle at about 2:30am on Sunday morning.
