An undergraduate of Babcock University, Ogun State, Verishima Unokyur, reportedly committed suicide in his parent’s Lagos home at Mofoluku after sending a New Year message that has in it a ‘suicide note’ to his best friend.

19-year-old Verishima, who lost his father 15 years ago, and was the first child of his parents’ two children was a 200-level Social Work student of Babcock, Punch reported.
The report says on Tuesday, Verishima who hailed from Benue State sent a New Year message, which he ended with “See you in heaven,” to his best friend, and was later found dead hanging with his tie on Wednesday.
It said his bereaved mother is a top employee of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, and the deceased had continuously told her of his imminent death.
The report says at some point, the mum took him to church for deliverance.
