President Muhammadu Buhari has handed over the “supervision” of the Nigeria-Niger Republic border to God almighty.

Buhari on Tuesday while receiving in audience former Vice President Namadi Sambo in the latter’s capacity as Head, ECOWAS Election Mission to the Republic of Niger suggested that both countries lacked the capacity to effectively carry out surveillance around the borders they shared together in a statement his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, released.

The President, according to Adesina, said it was only God that could successfully handle the baton of the border supervision saying, “I come from Daura, few kilometers to Republic of Niger, so I should know a bit about that country.

“The President is quite decent, and we are regularly in touch. He is sticking to the maximum term prescribed by the Constitution of his country.

“Also, we share more than 1,400 kilometers of border with that country, which can only be effectively supervised by God.”
