Spokesman of All Progressive Congress, APC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has expressed his concern about statements credited to Gov. Ayodele Fayose’s about the health situation of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying he hoped that the governor was not thinking that his prophecy about the president is coming to pass.

Recall that in the run-up to the 2015 general election, Fayose sponsored a front page advert in Punch wherein he warned Nigerians against voting for Buhari, drawing parallel between the APC’s presidential candidate and late Murtala Muhammed, General Sanni Abacha as well as Umaru Yar’Adua who like Buhari were from North-west and died in office.

On Wednesday at a press conference he organised at Ado-Ekiti, the governor alleged that President Buhari was on life support in a London hospital.

He said, “the recorded audio message which was released by the presidency as the president’s Ramadan message to Nigerians necessitated my setting the records straight today. No doubt, the audio message was only a damage-control strategy aimed at further deceiving Nigerians. The audio message does not represent the truth as our president does not only have voice impairment, he has been on life support since June 6, 2017 at a West-End, London Hospital.”

Reacting to Fayose’s latest statement, Abdullahi acknowledged he did not have information about Buhari’s health. However, he condemned the Ekiti State governor for unabatedly talking ill of Buhari’s health.

Abdullahi said, ” If Fayose has such information and he is making it available, I think people should ask him how he got it. I only hope he is not celebrating that his prophesy is coming to pass. I hope that is not why he is gleefully announcing it because if that is what he is doing, it is no longer politics. It is about our common humanity.”
