Maverick showbiz personality, Charles Oputa popularly known as Charly Boy, has alleged that not few Nigerians are into homosexual relationships.
Charly Boy stated this on Friday on Your View, a talk-show programme on Television Continental, Lagos, where he was a guest after he was asked whether he is gay.
“While i was in America, at a particular time in my life after my third marriage went crashed, my best friend was a homosexual, though we didn’t get into anything but he kept counseling me and i was seeing his doctor.
“But i was so fascinated each time is off to work in the evening , the transformation, he would put on his lipstick.
“There are a lot of homosexuals in this country, people are just deceiving themselves. But for me two inches is own. If i was truly gay i would be advocating for it. I no send anybody. But am sorry, am straight as a person,” Charly Boy said.
It would be recalled that gay is criminalised in Nigeria as the anti-gay law became effective on January 13, 2014. The law, which contains penalties of up to 14 years in prison and bans gay marriage, same-sex “amorous relationships” and membership of gay rights groups, was passed by the national assembly in May of 2013.
