An Ekiti State mini-truck driver, Adeleye Adeniyi, has stirred attention after revealing that he borrowed N3.5 million to campaign for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and two other politicians.

Adeleye Adeniyi, popularly known as “Online Loan Man for BAO”, said he took the loan to support Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Ekiti State House of Assembly member Steve Fatoba ahead of the forthcoming elections.

In an interview with journalists circulating on Friday, the driver displayed a cardboard cheque bearing the Wema Bank name, allocating N2 million to Tinubu, N1 million to Bamidele and N500,000 to Fatoba.

He said his decision was motivated by what he described as the politicians’ performance in office, adding that he was ready to take his campaign to the streets.

“I am supporting Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his second-term ambition. I have borrowed money. I want to use this money to support him because he’s doing a very great job,” he said.

Adeniyi also appealed to Nigerians to vote for Tinubu for another term, insisting that the country stood to benefit more if the President returned to office.

“I am fully ready to go out to campaign for him. And I’m going to use this song to back him up. On your mandate, we shall stand,” he declared.

The driver urged Nigerians to demonstrate their support for Tinubu, Bamidele and Fatoba at the polls.

He also praised Bamidele and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji over what he described as their contributions to healthcare, education, electricity and rural infrastructure.

Speaking about Bamidele, Adeniyi said the senator’s support for projects had encouraged him to believe in his leadership.

“Most times, I look at the kind of projects that you always put on, you always supported. It always encouraged me that, no, indeed, this is a good leader,” he said.

The latest move is not the first time Adeniyi has reportedly borrowed money to demonstrate his support for a politician.

In February 2026, he attracted attention after reportedly taking a loan through the digital lending platform OPay to brand a vehicle in support of Oyebanji’s second-term ambition.

The driver, who operates around the BAO Timber Market along Ilawe Road in Ado-Ekiti, said his earlier decision was driven by his admiration for the governor’s administration.

He had also praised Oyebanji and Tinubu over their policies on education, healthcare and citizens’ welfare, urging residents to support the governor’s re-election bid.
