Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Joseph Daudu (SAN), and his wife, Ranti Daudu, were estranged, and he was in the process of divorcing her on Thursday when she died, a report claimed.

The estranged lawyer couple had been living apart since three years ago.
The former NBA President had filed divorce papers alleging that their marriage which was consummated in 1987 and produced six children had broken beyond repair.
The deceased was reportedly in Kaduna with her lawyers in preparatory for the court case slated for Thursday when she suddenly fell sick on Wednesday and was rushed to the hospital.
The 54-year-old who was a former member of the Governing Board of the National Human Rights Commission, reportedly died of minor stroke on Thursday, the day she was expected to appear in court and be cross examined by Daudu’s lawyer.
“It is very sad. She had a minor stroke. She was recovering but all of a sudden her condition worsened. But we are just waiting for the doctor to confirm the exact cause of the death,” Paul, the first child of the couple’s children, also a lawyer, was quoted as saying in Punch.
