The Federal Government has launched a one-stop online portal that will allow Nigerians and businesses to access government services from a single platform, ending the stress of moving from one website or office to another.
The Government Service Portal was unveiled on Tuesday at a soft launch in Abuja by Galaxy Backbone in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
Galaxy Backbone Managing Director, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, said the portal would simplify access to government services by bringing them under one trusted digital platform.
He said Nigerians would no longer have to struggle through multiple websites to obtain public services, describing the initiative as the start of a unified digital gateway for citizens and businesses.
According to him, although many Ministries, Departments and Agencies have digitised their services, users still face a fragmented system.
“This portal changes that by simplifying access, improving visibility and creating a seamless experience for everyone,” he said.
Adeyanju added that the initiative supports President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and forms a key part of Nigeria’s Digital Public Infrastructure, alongside digital identity, payment and data exchange systems.
He said the portal was being rolled out gradually to allow government agencies upload their services, improve system integration and gather public feedback before full deployment.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Nadungu Gagare, represented by Johnson Bareyei, described the platform as a flagship project under Nigeria’s e-Government Master Plan 2.0.
He said the portal features a secure single sign-on system, enabling users to access multiple government services without repeatedly submitting the same information.
Gagare said the platform would make government services faster, easier and more transparent while boosting accountability and ease of doing business.
KOICA Nigeria Country Director, Eunsub Kim, represented by Ki-Hyun Baik, described the launch as the product of years of collaboration between Nigeria and South Korea.
He said the portal is the flagship achievement of the “Building a Foundation Towards Digital Governance in Nigeria” project and would provide Nigerians with a true one-stop gateway to government services.
Also speaking, Director of International Cooperation at the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Sampson Ebimaro, urged continuous collaboration and regular feedback to ensure the project’s success.
Galaxy Backbone Executive Director, Olumbe Akinkugbe, said nationwide user testing showed strong public acceptance of the platform.
According to him, over 80 per cent of the 184 participants found the portal easy to use, 88 per cent successfully located government services, 71 per cent rated it fast or very fast, 91 per cent said they would use it again, while 99 per cent said they would recommend it to others.
He added that feedback from the pilot phase had already led to improvements in registration, image capture and one-time password delivery, with more government agencies set to join the platform in the next phase.
