A 25-year-old woman has landed in police custody after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend and cutting off his manhood when she discovered he planned to marry another woman.
The horrifying attack reportedly happened at Durbar Hotel in Badawa, Kano, where the suspect, from Maigatari Local Government Area of Jigawa State, allegedly used a sharp knife on the victim.
Kano Police spokesman, CSP Abdullahi Haruna-Kiyawa, said officers stormed the scene after receiving a distress report from the hotel. The woman was arrested on the spot, the knife recovered, and the badly injured victim rushed to Abubakar Imam Urology Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
Police say investigations are ongoing.
In another shocking case, Kano Police also arrested three suspects, including a husband and wife, over the alleged killing of 30-year-old Abubakar Auwal.
According to police, Auwal was allegedly lured by two men over claims he was having an affair with a married woman. He was brutally beaten into a coma before officers arrived.
He was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, where doctors confirmed him dead. His body has been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.
Condemning both incidents, Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu-Bakori warned residents against taking the law into their own hands, assuring that all suspects would face prosecution after investigations.
