A self-acclaimed prophet, Godwin Sunday Ajuluchukwucheya, popularly known as Prophet Sunday Koboko, has been Jailed for defrauding his church members and other victims of N136.4million through false promises of miracles, lottery winnings and bogus investment schemes.
An Enugu State High Court handed Godwin Sunday Ajuluchukwucheya the judgement after he was found guilty of fraudulently obtaining the money from unsuspecting church members between 2023 and February 2025.
The court heard that the convict among other dodgy maneuvers falsely claimed that he had won N30billion in the Baba Ijebu lottery, lured innocent investors to invest monies in the ruse and ended up appropriating the whole monies to himself.
After oral arguments from the plaintiff and the defendant’s lawyers, Justice H.O. Eya sentenced the self-styled prophet to one year in prison with an option of a N500,000 fine.
Additionally, the court ordered his forfeiture of a landed property to the Federal Government, directing the sale of the property, with the proceeds used to compensate victims of the fraudulent scheme.
