The Divisional Police Officer of Naka division, Mamud Abubakar, a Superintendent of Police has been killed.
Abubakar was murdered on Tuesday around 3.30pm. He was reportedly returning from Makurdi where he went for a peace mission when gunmen ambushed him.
His killing has been attributed to herders.
“The road was blocked by herdsmen and the DPO was on his way to Makurdi when they ambushed him; he was the only person in the vehicle along that road,” Chairman of Gwer West LGA, Ayande Andrew told Punchng.
