Former Vice-President and Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has given condition to cease fire in his endeavour to be declared winner of the 2023 presidential election.
Following the declaration of the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, as winner, Atiku challenged the pronouncement at the Tribunal levelling forgery of academic qualifications at Tinubu among others.
His efforts were in vain as the Tribunal ruled against him. Consequently the ex-VP proceeded to the Supreme Court and now has some dossier about the former Lagos governor, courtesy the documents released by Chicago State University which the president claims is his alma mater.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, Atiku gave condition to cease fire.
“I have already filed my appeal against him at the Supreme Court. It is only when the court rules that he is right that I will drop this fight; in other words, I will drop this fight when the court rules because there is no court higher than the supreme court,” he said.
