A chairmanship aspirant in Saturday’s ward congresses of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Jeremiah Oghoveta, was stabbed to death moment before the exercise got under way.

Late Oghoveta ,who had declared his interest to lead the party in Jeremi 3, Ughelli South ward 10, was knifed to death allegedly by one Tete in the heat of an argument over the hijack of electoral materials by a side involved in the process.
Multiple reports claimed that leading to Oghoveta’s killing, he had protested over the alleged hijack of the election materials, and leaving the scene after making his point when his assailant pounced on him, stabbing him on the neck
Oghoveta died on the spot while the Tete fled.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, Andrew Aniamaka (DSP), confirmed the incident.
