OrijoReporter.com, LASU Staff sacked

The provost of Adonai Advanced Institute of Management, Samson Orijugo, has been jailed for three years for forging a notification of result on the letterhead of Lagos State University, LASU.

Orijugo was handed down the sentence by Justice Modupe Nico-Clay of a Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja on Wednesday.

His conviction was anchored on a two-count charge of forgery, which the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt.

His journey to prison started in 2015 at Badagry, forged a notification of result issued to a student, John Chibuzor Okoro, using LASU letterhead to falsely represent that Adonai Institute was affiliated with LASU.

This he did for pecuniary gains as he collected money from Patience Okoro, the student’s mother who he met in a public transport and pitched to her that Adonai Institute was affiliated with LASU.

Deceived into it, the court heard that Mrs Okoro enrolled her son in Adonai Institute and upon graduation he was issued a notification of result on an LASU letterhead.

Justice Nico-Clay was also told that the matter became an issue when John Chibuzor Okoro was seeking employment but was denied due to fake certificate.
