Lagos CP Tijani Fatai has disclosed that four persons have been arrested in the state with truck loaded with military camouflage in sacks and cartons of hard drugs heading to South-East.

Lagos CP Tijani Fatai made this disclosure on Tuesday during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Ikeja while outlining major breakthroughs recorded by the command in the last two weeks.

Fatai intimated newsmen that operatives of the State Tactical Squad intercepted the truck on Saturday night following intelligence reports that the suspicious consignment was being moved out of Lagos through the Lekki-Epe corridor.

He said the truck was loaded with several bags containing military camouflage uniforms and cartons filled with different types of suspected illicit drugs.

“These bags you are seeing here contain military camouflage. We received information and swung into action. The vehicle conveying the sacks was intercepted while moving out of Lagos State, and those carrying them were arrested,” the police commissioner said.

He said four suspects have been taken into police custody while a manhunt is launched for those to the shipment.

“From the information available to us, the items were being taken somewhere in the East. We are still investigating to unravel those behind it,” he added.
