One of the three suspects arrested for the gruesome killing of a woman and her six children has admitted murdering two other housewives in Kano, the Kano State capital.
Recall that 36-year-old Fatima Abubakar, and her six children were murdered in their residence in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters at 12.10 pm on Saturday.
The heinous crime was traced to 23-year-old Umar Auwalu, 40-year-old Isyaku Yakubu, aka ‘Chebe’, and 21-year-old Yakubu Abdulaziz, all from Kano.
One of them, according to News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on interrogation confessed to killing two housewives like Fatima in the past.
NAN said the Commissioner, Kano State Police Command, CP Ibrahim Bakori told its correspondent about the confession in a telephone interview.
According to the report the CP said that the suspects were apprehended during a sting operation conducted between 10pm on Saturday and 4am on Sunday.
Bakori explained that the alleged leader of the syndicate, identified as a relative of the deceased, confessed to the crime and admitted involvement in other violent attacks, including the killing of two housewives in Tudun Yola Quarters, Gwale Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
Bakori said that items recovered from the suspects included blood-stained clothes, two mobile phones belonging to the deceased, a cutlass, a club, cash allegedly taken from the scene, and other weapons.
He added that investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
