One person simply identified as Okereke has been arrested for killing his friend, Ibere Okorie, over a female lover.
According to report, Okereke and Okorie had left for a business trip from Ijebu-Ode to Niger State when the incident occurred.
The two guys put up at a hotel in Mokwa in Niger, and it was in the course of their stay trouble started between them over a lady they were both dating.
“They got into argument over the lady and in the thick of their altercation, Okereke stabbed Okorie with a broken bottle in the stomach and fled the scene.
“The result, was a serious injury that was unable to be handled by the hospitals in Mokwa, Lagos and Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital, Ife, where Okorie was taken to.
“It led to his death on December 13, 2023 at the last-mentioned hospital while his killer friend was picked up at Ijebu-Odo where he holed up in,” a police source narrated.
