A member of staff of Marriott Hotels in Casablanca, Morocco, is said to be behind the theft of more than $1,000 belonging to some Super Falcons Players.
The Falcons were camped earlier in the hotel before they relocated to Rabat for their Group C matches in the just-commenced 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Midfielder Esther Okoronkwo had cried out on social media saying a total sum of $1,000 was stolen from the players’ rooms by housekeepers when they went for training.
It has now emerged that the housekeeper behind the theft has been arrested.
“I have been informed that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the theft at the Super Falcons’ Marriott Hotel in Casablanca and has confessed. Full restitution will be made to the players while the law takes its course,” journalist and former Super Eagles media officer, Colin Udoh, announced on Sunday in a social media post.
