A Lagos barber’s desperate search for quick wealth has allegedly ended in tragedy after he reportedly lost his sanity following the use of a mysterious soap obtained from a native doctor in Ogun State.
The disturbing incident involving Sunday Victor Obamotula, a barber operating around Ojota, Lagos, was reported by Lagos-based social media news platform Kosofe Agboyi Ketu.
According to the report, Obamotula reportedly travelled from Lagos to Ijebu, Ogun State, in search of a spiritual solution to his financial struggles.
He allegedly consulted a native doctor identified as Idowu Onabanjo, who was said to have given him a ritual soap and instructed him to bathe with it as part of the supposed process for attracting wealth.
But what followed was far from the financial breakthrough he reportedly sought.
The barber allegedly developed serious mental health problems shortly after using the soap, with his family claiming that his behaviour changed drastically.
According to the report, Obamotula began talking to himself and complaining about frightening visions and mysterious beings.
His condition reportedly became so severe that his relatives took him to several churches and spiritual healing centres in a desperate attempt to restore his sanity.
However, the family’s efforts allegedly yielded no solution, leaving the barber trapped in what they described as a severe mental crisis.
The matter reportedly took another shocking turn when Obamotula’s family confronted Onabanjo over the alleged outcome of the ritual.
Rather than providing an explanation or assistance, the native doctor allegedly became violent and attacked the barber’s mother, reportedly attempting to strangle her during the confrontation.
The incident has reportedly stirred concern in the community, with the bizarre chain of events raising fresh questions about the dangers of seeking instant wealth through unverified spiritual or ritual practices.
