Twenty-eight persons among them a Muslim cleric, Toheeb Albarka, and twins; Lambe Kehinde and Lambe Taye, have been arrested for internet fraud in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The suspects, six of whom are students of various tertiary institutions, were picked up on Thursday at Mandate Area by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The latter’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwuajaren, communicated the piece of news in a statement he released.
In it, others listed are; Francis Stephen, Olabode Yusuf and Musbaudeen Akorede, who all trade in dogs on the side.
Moshood Okunola, Kayode Aderemi, Ayobami Olorunfemi, Paul Ayomide, Agboola Marvellous, Adebisi Olatunde, Olaleye Solomon, Akinade Samuel, Damilola Shagaya, Muhammed Awal, Adam Mubarak, Ogundiran Nathaniel, Jamiu Ishola, Dauda Tunde, Abdullahi Sikiru, Kasali Afeez Adegoke, Jordan Adeyinka, Ojeniyi Boluwatife, Adedamola Samson, Olarewaju Adisa Taofeek, Adewale Oloro and Omogbolahan Ibrahim.
The report also said the suspects’ arrest was the result of intelligence, adding that they would all have their days in court upon conclusion of investigation.
