Singer, Teniola Apata, said she had a tough time completing her first degree at American InterContinental University, Illinois, United States where she obtained a degree in Business Administration.
The 25-year-old disclosed this to Punchng.com in an interview she granted the online medium that she struggled with her academic culminating in spending seven years in the university instead of the standard four years, adding that her hit song, Uyo Meyo, was inspired by her problem then.
“I recorded Uyo Meyo for my graduation ceremony because it took me seven years to graduate. My sisters graduated before me; so, it was a big deal for me on the day I graduated. I did the song for myself and everyone who hopes to achieve something,” the For your Case, told the paper.
Teni is the younger sister of This is Me crooner, Niniola. Late civil war veteran, Simeon Apata, owner of popular secondary school, Apata Memorial Schools, in Isolo, fathered both singers.
