The Nigerian serving a life sentence for murdering a British soldier, Fusilier Lee Rigby, Michael Adebolajo, is seeking compensation after he lost two front teeth when he was restrained by prison officers.
In May 2013, Adebolajo, and his partner in crime, another Nigerian, Michael Adebowale, both jihadi extremists and have Christian backgrounds, butchered Rigby(pictured right) near a London barrack after they knocked the 25-year-old father-of-one down with a car, dragged him into the road, and slaughtered him with meat cleaver.
Subsequently, they were jailed. While Adebolajo was sentenced to a whole-life jail term for the murder, Adebowale was sentenced to life with a minimum 45 years.
Adebolajo, 32, lost his teeth while he was being held at Belmarsh on remand before his conviction, and claimed he had been assaulted by the prison officers.
He claimed five prison officers assaulted him at London’s high-security Belmarsh prison two years ago, but they were cleared of blame.
The exact figure for the claim is not known but similar cases have sought up to £20,000.
