The viral video of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, trapped inside the lift of a popular hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, on Thursday causing panic has drawn the comment of the monarch.
Oba Ogunwusi’s media aide, Mr Moses Olafare in an interview with Punchng.com narrated how it all happened and went on to reveal the monarch’s reaction on extrication.
“The hotel management tendered profuse apologies. Kabiyesi cracked jokes with the management of the hotel and asked them to improve on their facilities if they wanted to remain relevant in the Nigerian hospitality market.
“Kabiyesi calmed those who were already panicked. He asked them with a broad smile, ‘why are you panicking? Everybody became calm after that,” the paper quoted Olafere as saying.
