The headmaster of Nomadic Basic School, Igbojaye, Budo Aare, in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, Kolawale Mathew Owoade, has been kidnapped.
Owoade popularly known as Onaiye, was abducted on Saturday evening, July 11, 2026, between 5pm and 6pm.
According to his son, Abiola Owoade, the 60-year-old’s abduction took place while he was returning from his farm at Budo Aare within this local government.
Abiola stated that the headmaster’s abductors have reached out to their family to demand N30m in ransom.
He added that on Sunday evening, a search party recovered his father’s motorcycle abandoned in the bush.
Confirming the incident Oyo State Police Command spokesperson said, “I can confirm to you that a farmer, Mathew Owoade, was kidnapped at his farm in Budo Aare, and efforts are on to rescue the man unharmed and arrest the perpetrators.”
