Pastor of The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Obehie Asa, Abia state, Reverend Titus Onwuchekwa who is under arrest in Lagos for buying a stolen Pajero Sports Utility Vehicle, has said that the jeep was used to sow a seed into his life.
Onwuchekwa(pictured) who used to be a health worker and graduated from Abia State College of Health Technology, Aba, was paraded last Friday alongside Opeyemi Aregbesola, 28; Bola Salami, 30; Osas Felix Bright, 32; Chibike Umeh, 22; and Ndibe Samuel, 31.
The father-of-two(his family pictured below) said he was not aware that the N10m worth car that was sold to him at a giveaway price of N500,000 is a stolen property, adding that the seller told him he was using the jeep to sow a seed into his life.
He said: “I don’t t know that it was a stolen vehicle. I suspected it might be a stolen vehicle but I was told that the papers were genuine. I came to Lagos for a church programme and when we finished, I saw the vehicle on display for sale around Alaba area.
“I contacted the seller through the number on the vehicle and he came to meet me, where the vehicle was parked. When he came, I told him that I was a pastor and that I wanted to take the vehicle to the east.
“We agreed on N500, 000 but I could not afford to pay in full and he told me to bring what I had that he was using it to ‘sow a seed’ into my life for God’s blessing. I gave him my details and I promised to pay the balance of N150 000, but I was yet to pay, when policemen came to arrest me.
“I did not know that it was a stolen vehicle.”
