A onetime Special Adviser to the Chairman Ikorodu Local Government Council of Lagos State Mr. Paul Abumere Okojie is said to be on the run from the police and his community when it was discovered that he was into gay practices.
Mr. Paul Okojie was reportedly exposed by an unknown man who claimed they have been partners and sexually involved going into many years of relationship.

Orijo Reporters gathered that Paul Okojie’s dilemma began when he tried to ditch his same sex partner. The man (name withheld) who felt used, rejected and dumped resorted to expose Paul Okojie by sending pictures of their illicit sex session to Paul’s wife.
It was reported that the picture which was sent on March 17th 2018 to the wife, clearly showed the face of Paul while the head of his partner was smartly cut off to cover his identity. sources familiar with the case told our correspondent that the wife hit the roof upon seeing these pictures of her husband and another man having sex.
It was learnt that she immediately confronted her husband. Paul Okojie was said to have fled the scene when his wife started screaming that attracted their neighbors. He has not been seen since that day in the neighborhood
Our correspondents working on this case also went to Paul’s community in Uromi hoping to find more clues but learnt that Paul Okojie had also been summoned to appear before the Ojuromi who is the paramount ruler of the community HRH. A source in the palace of the Ojuromi. said what Paul did is an abomination to the land and to the royal stool where Paul’s grandfather once sat as king many years ago.
The source informed our reporter that it was the palace that petitioned the police as they don’t want to be seen as taking the laws into their own hands.
All efforts to get clues about Paul’s partner has so far proved unsuccessful as no one seems to know anything about this man.
Talking to his fellow staff at Ikorodu LGA secretariat, some of them showed complete shock as they considered Mr. Paul Okojie as an upright and disciplined man, some said he was a man of God while others gave little hints of his queerness.
Same sex relationship is against Nigerian laws and attracts 14 years imprisonment upon conviction.
Our correspondent who spoke to the police in Paul’s area of Ajah in Lagos confirmed the petition from his community Palace and told our reporters that they have sent a letter inviting Paul to come forward and answer questions relating to his involvement in the prohibited act of gay or LGBTQ practices, as such practices has no place in the Nigerian Society. The police believe that Paul is on the run as he has refused to honour the invitation sent to him to come forward and clear his name.
“We believe he is currently on the run from the police, but we shall get him and make him face the wrath of the law,“ The officer in charge of the case Corporal Olarenwaju Daniel told our correspondent in Lagos.
Orijo Reporters further gathered that matters however took a twist when the police confirming the news about Mr. Paul Okojie’s sexuality to our reporter drew his attention to the “Toronto Star” a widely circulated news medium in Canada displaying the Picture of Mr. Paul Okojie participating in what the paper reported as the biggest gay parade in the world. In the news one can clearly see Mr. Paul Okojie in the front line of the parade and displaying the gay rainbow flag.
The police told our reporter thereafter that they are not looking for any other proof but awaiting his arrival in the country anytime as they are sure he will come back for his kids some day and then he will be arrested, tried and jailed.
When our correspondent visited Paul’s residence in Ajah, Lagos State, a neighbor confirmed that some youths from his community has been visiting his residence more often than usual and asking lots of questions about his whereabouts.
The neighbor who does not want her name in print said the news about Mr. Paul Okojie’s sexuality is all over the neighborhood. Our reporter could not get to the wife of Paul as he was to learn that the wife left a few months after the disappearance of Paul and no one knows of her new address.
It was further gathered by our reporter that the police are constantly coming to Paul’s residence to see if he is back.
When contacted, a spokesman of the Ajah Police Station in Lagos State, stated that “The police will not rest in the fight against gay men and women in the State. Paul is therefore requested to surrender himself, and where he fail to voluntarily come forward to clear his name he will be treated as criminal when we eventually arrest him.”
