The Kebbi State government has announced the reduction of official working hours for the state civil servants due to the ongoing Ramadan fast.
Kebbi, Bauchi and Kano State were loaded with general opprobrium for closing primary and secondary schools in their states in view of the Muslim fasting with the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, calling for a reversal of the order.
On Monday, Kebbi Governor, Nasir Idris announced the reduction of working hours for goverment workers in the state.
The state’s Commissione for, Ministry for Establishment, Pension and Training, Awwal Manu Dogondaji, in a statement he released announced the development.
“The newly approved hours for the state civil servants from Monday to Thursday is now from 8a.m. to 1p.m while Friday is from 8a.m. to 12p.m,” the Commissioner said.
Dogondaji added that the normal working hours would resume at the end of Ramadan period.
