Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has opened up about months of excruciating pain and mobility problems, revealing that her deteriorating health left her dependent on a wheelchair as she celebrated her 25th birthday.
The actress made the shocking disclosure in an emotional video shared on her Instagram page on Saturday, October 10, 2026, breaking her silence on the health struggles that kept her away from social media for an extended period.
Daniels, who turned 25 on Saturday, appeared in a wheelchair as she recounted how what initially seemed like a minor health problem gradually worsened, sometimes leaving her unable to walk.
The mother of two said her condition took a serious turn after the last major public event she hosted, a Children’s Day carnival.
According to her, the months that followed were marked by repeated medical tests, severe pain and uncertainty over her ability to move freely.
She described the ordeal as emotionally draining, revealing that there were days when she could walk but other times when the pain left her almost completely immobile.
“Sometimes I find myself walking well, and sometimes I just can’t move. I cried,” she said, explaining how the experience had affected her daily life.
The actress also expressed frustration over losing the freedom to move around as she pleased, as well as having to rely on other people for assistance with ordinary activities.
Despite the difficulties, Daniels said she was holding on to her faith in God and praying for healing as she navigated the challenging period.
She also expressed gratitude for what she described as significant progress in her recovery, saying the improvement encouraged her to speak publicly about her condition.
Daniels, however, did not disclose the specific illness responsible for her symptoms or provide details of the treatment she has received.
TURNS TO FAMILY, CHILDREN
Beyond her health struggles, the actress spoke about her decision to move closer to the people she loves, particularly her two children, whom she described as central to her life.
She revealed that she initially rented her current residence but later decided she wanted to own the property after moving in.
According to her, she made a down payment on the house and subsequently received gifts from well-wishers, including furniture and other household items.
Daniels expressed gratitude to those who had supported her, describing the year as one filled with blessings despite the challenges she had faced.
Her birthday message, which combined an account of her health ordeal with expressions of faith and gratitude, also offered an explanation for her prolonged absence from public view.
MARRIAGE CRISIS BACK IN FOCUS
The actress’s latest disclosure comes amid the public fallout from her troubled relationship with businessman and Delta North Senator Ned Nwoko.
Daniels married Nwoko in 2019, when she was 19, and the couple have two children together.
Their relationship became the subject of intense public controversy in late 2025 and early 2026, following allegations and counter-allegations surrounding their marriage.
Reports of a possible reconciliation also circulated after a video purportedly showing Daniels at Nwoko’s residence emerged online. However, the reports were not confirmed by both parties, and members of the actress’s family disputed claims that she had officially returned to the marriage.
In May 2026, Daniels reportedly ruled out the prospect of remarrying, further fuelling speculation about the future of the relationship.
Her birthday video did not directly address the marital controversy, instead focusing on her health, recovery, faith and desire to remain close to her children.
