The family war rocking the Okoye dynasty has taken another dramatic turn as Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has broken his silence after his twin brother, Peter Okoye (Mr P), made fresh allegations against their late mother, Josephine Okoye.
Rudeboy appeared to defend his late mother following claims by Mr P that she allegedly mistreated his wife, Lola, during a family confrontation years ago.
In a cryptic social media post on Friday, Rudeboy wrote: “Unfortunately, you’re not here to defend yourself. Continue resting, Mum.”
The emotional message came shortly after Mr P released the eighth episode of his explosive tell-all series detailing the bitter family feud that led to the collapse of the once-united music group, P-Square.
In the latest episode, Mr P opened up on what he described as a painful family meeting at their Omole residence, where he alleged that his late mother, his brothers Jude, Paul and Tony, as well as some pastors, confronted him and his wife after the birth of their son.
According to Mr P, the meeting turned into a painful experience for Lola, who he claimed was asked to leave him alone.
He alleged that when Lola arrived at the house, she was not welcomed properly and neither of them was offered a seat during the meeting.
“Everybody was seated. I went to call Lola. When she entered the room, nobody stood up or said, ‘Lola, sit down.’ Nobody even bothered to welcome her properly. Lola and I just sat on the floor,” he claimed.
The singer further alleged that his mother told Lola: “Young woman, we the Okoye family have decided that you should leave our son alone.”
Mr P said the confrontation left his wife in tears, adding that pastors present tried to calm the situation.
He also alleged that Jude and Rudeboy opposed Lola’s pregnancy and circulated an anonymous email questioning whether he was the biological father of their unborn child.
“Nothing that Jude and Paul didn’t do for Lola to take that pregnancy out,” Mr P alleged.
However, he claimed their mother later acknowledged that the child was his and asked his brothers to apologise, but said the apology never happened before her death.
Mr P also rejected claims that Lola had issues with his late mother, insisting that his wife cared for her during her illness.
“When my mom was sick, Lola stayed with her in the hospital till midnight and took the pastors back home every day for over two months,” he said.
While Rudeboy did not directly respond to the allegations, his message has been interpreted by many fans as a defence of their late mother and a warning against further attacks on her memory.
The latest clash adds another chapter to the long-running Okoye family drama, which has involved accusations over P-Square’s split, finances, business dealings, royalties and personal relationships.
Mr P has previously accused their elder brother, Jude Okoye, of financial misconduct and other alleged wrongdoing, claims Jude has denied, maintaining that some matters are already before the court.
Unlike his twin brother, Rudeboy has largely avoided public exchanges over the family crisis, with his management recently stating that the singer remains focused on his music career and would not engage in online disputes.
