The sacking of three commissioners by Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode happened as a result of infighting among cabinet members and the Lagos governor, a report by Punch has said.

On Wednesday in a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tunji Bello, the Lagos Government announced the sack of Commissioners for Tourism, Mr. Folorunsho Folarin-Coker; Finance Commissioner, Dr Mustapha Akinkunmi, and Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Ekundayo Mobereola.
Punch reports that the commissioners were fired because they were against alleged flouting of due process by Gov. Ambode. It said a deadly power play among some members of the state cabinet was one of the reasons the commissioners were sack.
“Three commissioners had threatened to resign about three months ago, but were prevailed on to change their minds by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
“Some members of the cabinet were also accused of incompetence, disloyalty and insubordination, among others. But nobody thought it could lead to this sacking. We heard that more people will still be sacked,” the paper quoted a source.
